2020 Kia Telluride Prices, Reviews, and Pictures

Overview

Frugality is often equated with affordability, but the 2020 Kia Telluride surpasses that stereotype with its extravagant qualities and incredibly low price. The bold-looking Kia SUV is the largest crossover SUV in the company, boasting huge dimensions and three rows of seating. The Kia has all the features you need in a family hauler. Although the standard V-6 engine isn’t particularly efficient, it’s quiet competent and capable of towing up to 5000lbs. The 2020 Telluride has also won a comparison against the top competitors in this segment and earned a spot on our 10Best List.

What’s new for 2020?

The 2020 Kia Telluride is brand new. It’s based on a three-row Kia Sorento but is much larger and grander inside and out. The Hyundai Palisade corporate cousin is also new and distinguished by its bolder exterior styling, and unique interior. In the middle of its first model-year, Kia increased the price of its new SUV.

Pricing and Which One To Buy

We don’t recommend the full-loaded version of a vehicle very often, as we value the best value for customers. Even the most luxurious Telluride vehicle is a bargain. We would choose the SX model, and add all-wheel driving for $2000. The standard features include a 12-way adjustable driver’s seat, 20 inch wheels, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, dual solarroofs, and blind-spot monitoring. However, the Tow package can be used to maximize Telluride’s towing capabilities. This package includes a head-up display and heated and ventilated second row seats. It also has rain-sensing windshield washers and a 110-volt outlet.

Transmission, Engine, and Performance

Every 2020 Telluride has a naturally aspirated V-6 engine that produces 291 horsepower and 262 pounds of torque. The engine is paired with an eight speed automatic transmission, which feeds the front wheels using the standard format. All-wheel drive is available across the board. We tested the Telluride SX, which was the top-of-the line model. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.0 seconds. The big Kia was not as responsive to throttle inputs at lower speeds than its turbocharged counterparts. The Telluride’s ride is firm, and the SUV can be thrown off-track by rough pavement. There is also a self-leveling rear air suspension. The brakes are superb and the steering feels solid with a good feel. Telluride has 8.0 inches of ground clearance, which is ideal for off-road adventures. It can also tow up to 5500 pounds.

Fuel Economy and Real World MPG

The Telluride only comes with a V-6 engine, unlike many other three-row SUVs. According to the EPA, the front-drive model is the most economical with ratings of 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The all-wheel-drive models return 19 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway, which is slightly less than V-6-powered rivals such as the Volkswagen Atlas or the Honda Pilot. On our 200-mile fuel economy route, the Telluride all-wheel-drive returned 24 mpg highway. This is in line with its government rating. During our real-world test, the Pilot earned 27 mpg and the Atlas got 24 mpg.

Interior, Comfort, & Cargo

No matter what people think about 2020 Telluride’s bold exterior, the interior is undeniably elegant and comfortable. The build quality and materials are excellent. There are many desirable features. The cabin of the Telluride is considerably larger than that of the seven-passenger Sorento. This is especially true for those who are in the wayback seats. With the optional captain’s chair, there is enough space for seven or eight people with the second-row bench seat. We were able to fit four carry on suitcases behind the third row, and 35 total carry-ons. Both back rows are folded flat.

Connectivity and Infotainment

The Telluride’s entry-level model boasts an excellent infotainment system. It features an 8.0-inch touchscreen that displays popular content, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. There are also many power points. All other models have the same equipment, as well as a standard 10.25 inch touchscreen and wireless charging. The top-tier SX model includes a Harman/Kardon sound system.
